Trees up to 10 m tall.
Bark smooth, brownish, lenticellate; blaze light orange.
Young branchlets terete, fulvous tomentose.
Leaves simple, alternate, spiral, subverticilate; petiole 0.8-1.2 cm long, flat, densely fulvous tomentose; lamina 11-24 x 2-6.3 cm, narrowly long elliptic-oblanceolate, apex narrowly acute to acuminate; base narrowly cuneate, margin entire, chartaceous, densely tomentose on midrib and nerves beneath, glabrous above except midrib; midrib raised above; secondary nerves 7-14 pairs, very oblique; tertiary nerves closely horizontally percurrent.
Flowers unisexual, dioecious, in umbels on short peduncle.
Berry, black when ripe, seated on cup shaped fruiting perianth; seeds 1.
