A beautiful tree with violet flowers hanging like a shower, in the forest near the R. Yamuna.

    Desmodium has trifoliate leaves. In the present case leaves are quite different. Please examine critically.

    Yes Desmodium oojeinense is trifoliate and usually flowers gregarious when leafless. In the images above I cannot be sure of the leave type. Also the species is common in the region. However Cassia javanica is an exotic species and is unlikely to be found growing uncultivated (its regeneration is not that good for it to be found growing wild).
